How can I install XP on my SATA HDD?
I have read the technical reference manual and I am 100% sure that I followed all of its instructions. (Yes! even the floppy disk thing...) I already partitioned the SATA HDD and loaded the XP setup and it automatically restarts the pc... but at the "loading of XP" screen part... the loading bar stops at the middle and a "Stop Error Screen" appears. What do you think is the cause? Please help me.. thank you.
when i insert the floppy and the pc detects it, the pc recognizes the XP RAID in the floppy as newer than the RAID driver already in the package...
I think that the setup program did not correctly copy over the files that XP needs. XP with Service Pack 2 should be able to handle almost all SATA drive / controllers. If you think that this is the problem, though, most BIOSes have an option for "legacy" on SATA drives. This means that the BIOS pretends that the drive is a regular IDE drive.
But honestly, I think the problem was in copying files over. Check that the disc is not dirty or damaged.
